Meet Matt Foister

Weekend's with Matt

Share Post:

You’ll find Matt on air every weekend. Saturday 8-10am and Sunday 9-12pm with our 80’s vs 90’s special!

Your first radio memory?

Do you remember that game based around Snooker, Dave Lee Travis used to play on his weekend show on Radio 1…? I remember hearing the sound effects and how invested the contestants were!

What would you do if you weren’t a radio presenter?

I’d perhaps be trying to be a radio presenter! – or I’d be doing something else in radio. I’ve also been a producer, a bit of a boss and worked on the sales side – anything to avoid having a proper job…

What’s your drink of choice – on air?

A tea every hour… occasionally a coffee!

And off air!?

As we exit the summer, the Fanta Lemons are being replaced with… more tea (every hour… occasionally a coffee)

Your favourite place in Huddersfield?

The John Smiths Stadium… I took our daughter to her first concert there in 2018 to see Little Mix… I think I was the only Dad there – the Gents loos were spotless (no queuing for us that day!)

Who’s your local legend?

Gorden Kaye! He played Rene in ‘Allo Allo’ – his comedy timing was the best we’d ever seen in TV comedy… if an 80’s TV show still makes you laugh in 2026 surely it’s stood the test of time (it’ll be on one of your sky channels somewhere)

Your most embarrassing radio story?

Despite all my bosses telling me to “record it” I DID interview Sean Bean LIVE… (ah, that’ll be “Potty Mouth” Sean Bean as we then referred to him – AFTER the live chat)

If you had a theme tune – what would that be?

Magnum!

Best holiday destination?

For a peaceful day out without spending too much time in the car; Filey… For a Summer – anywhere abroad that’s a) not too far (I’m 6ft 6 – there’s never enough leg room) and b) doesn’t have a lot of stray cats(!) (I’ve got a moggy phobia. Seriously)

Greatest film of all time?

Die Hard

Takeaway order?

Pepperoni & Chicken Pizza

Favourite EVER song – ok you can do your top 3….

James ‘Born Of Frustration’ / Brenda Russell ‘Piano In The Dark’ / Boy Meets Girl ‘Waiting For A Star To Fall’ / Michael Jackson ‘Remember The Time’ (oh – that’s 4 – let me have 4)

Best thing about Huddle Radio!!?

That it’s full of positivity!

Three words to describe Huddersfield

Yorkshire’s Little Secret
